In 2020, thousands of you completed one of the 700+ free online courses accessible through the Academy thanks to our partnership with Open Classrooms. And over 100 riders embarked on a full Rider Academy scholarship to gain a degree qualification in an area of their choosing.
With over 700 free online courses to choose from, you and a loved one can sharpen your skills or boost your CV in as little as a few hours with courses covering everything from Strengthening your CV and Interview Skills, to Data Analysis and Coding Basics thanks to our partnership with Open Classrooms.

Is there a limit to how many courses I take?
No, there’s no limit to how many courses you can study through the Rider Academy. If you’re really hungry for knowledge you can take all 700 available on the site!
How can my family member(s) take a course?
Your family members can use your login to take courses, but it’s important to note that for accredited free courses the account owner’s name will be displayed on your electronic certificate. All you need to do to access the courses is sign up through the Rider Academy website.
What languages are the courses available in?
All 700+ free online courses are available in French and English.
How long do the courses take to complete?
The length of courses vary, with some taking as little as a few hours to complete. A course’s duration is clearly displayed on the info page of that course, so you can decide whether or not you want to take it.
Do I have to complete any courses I start by a certain time?
No, you are free to study the 700+ online courses at your own pace, in between any other commitments (like riding with Deliveroo) you have.
If you’ve helped us feed lots of hungry tummies and ridden with us for at least 9 months, you or a family member can apply for a Rider Academy scholarship. Scholarship recipients will be given the opportunity to gain an Associate’s level degree in the field of their choice within just 6 months .
Eligible riders also need to complete a Open Classrooms free short course of a minimum of 6 hours in length before starting a scholarship. Scholarship recipients will be informed they are eligible, so look out for the email.

How can I apply for a scholarship?
To be able to apply for an Academy scholarship, you must have completed 60 orders or more during super peak hours in the past 12 weeks and have been riding with Deliveroo for more than 9 months. You will also need to complete a free open classrooms short course of a minimum of 6 hours in length to demonstrate commitment. You can find all this info and more on the scholarship page.
How do I know if I’m eligible for a scholarship?
Every rider who is currently eligible for a scholarship will have received an email letting them know this week. Going forward, if there are still scholarship places available for 2021 and you meet the eligibility requirements between now and then, we’ll notify you via email.
How will I know if my or my family member’s application has been successful?
All applications will be reviewed and scholars chosen and notified by the Deliveroo team.
How long do the scholarships take to complete?
Scholarships take an average of 6 months to complete, with a commitment of 20 hours per week.
How can my family member complete a scholarship?
If you are eligible to apply for a scholarship and successful in securing one but your family member wishes to complete it, the qualification will be in their name when they graduate. You’ll need to register your family member’s details on the scholarship application form.
