Since we first launched Deliveroo in Belgium in 2015, we’ve been listening carefully to your thoughts on how we can improve riding on Deliveroo. The freedom and flexibility to work to your own schedule is something you repeatedly tell us you value. In fact, your biggest piece of feedback was that you wanted the freedom to ride when and where you choose.
We want to ensure every rider has access to this freedom, especially at a time when choosing where and when you feel safest working is particularly important. At this time, we want you to have maximum control over your work, and we are pleased to be able to offer this to you.
To make this possible, from April 30, we will switch to become free login.
How does it work?
Free login gives you the freedom to work whenever you want, with no need to book sessions in advance in the Planner. There’s also no need to maintain statistics, so if you find yourself unable to work at short notice this won’t affect your ability to access work in future.
All you need to do is go online anywhere to start receiving orders. As you may know, Deliveroo already operates this system in Gent and Liège and several other countries including the UK, and it’s extremely popular with riders.
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 6pm to 9pm are still our busiest times of the week – and earnings are usually higher at lunch and dinner times – when we receive the most orders.
Here’s a handy graph to show when the best times to ride are:
Switching now means that if you ever feel unwell or can’t work, you can take time off without worrying about booking sessions when you want to get back on the road.
What happens to your statistics?
Your booking time will be frozen based on your statistics on April 30 and will stay frozen as you no longer need to book sessions. You may see your statistics change in your app based on your activity, but they will have no impact on your access to work.
Fee boosts in Free Login
Self-employed or student self employed: from Friday, we’ll let you know when there’s a fee boost in your area via push notifications. Because you’ll see more fee boosts, the streak and city bonuses will no longer be active in free login. With this new system in place, fee boosts are likely to be available much more often. You can see when a fee boost is available in the app Planner, so you know when you can earn more.
P2P: as a P2P rider you’ll also see fee boosts start to appear in your app. It’s important to note that these fee boosts apply only to self employed or student self employed riders, since riding with P2P status means bonuses aren’t permitted by law.
We hope that this new feature helps you to unlock easier access to work. For more information read our Q&A below or contact the rider support through the ?-button.
